I landed in Austin (after a 2.5 hour direct flight from Orlando with TV’s showing NCAA games… best flight ever) and came right to the arena to shoot Florida’s practice. They take on Northwestern State Friday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Practices are usually pretty boring. I thought seeing the pep band there would be the most unique aspect of the practice… boy was I wrong.
Near the end, I saw Scottie Wilbekin looking at something up toward the top row. I figured he saw a photographer’s strobes going off or something. Then all the players started ducking and laughing because a bat found its way onto the court. One player tried to toss a towel on it, but no luck. It finally flew away, but not after a couple of close calls.
