ISO 2015 or higher

I really should do a better job of posting here. Sorry about that.

I should also do a better job of keeping track of what all I saw while shooting high school football this season. But by the end of the year it all kind of blends together. Between game-winning field goals, last-second touchdowns, playoff upsets and everything else that happens on Friday (and Thursday) nights, 2015 made for some fun photos under the lights.

After cranking up the ISO and shooting pretty much a game a week since August, I gathered way to many photos from this season for a “High School Football: Best of 2015” collection.

After looking through all of the  images for this post, next year I’m going to try and get off the sideline more and into the crowd or with the band… basically move around more and take some chances. These are all shot from the same vantage point. So hold me to that next year, will you? Thanks.

This guy is a photographer whose grandson is a receiver for Buchholz (and a good one too.) I shot 2-3 games next to him at the beginning of the season. Each game he’d come up to me and say “Be sure to get a good one of 18.” Then we’d talk football, cameras and whatever. At one of the games, a play went out of bounds and he happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. As you can see, he’s joking around with the guys while being taken to the ambulance. His wife and daughter followed him to the ambulance and I went up to them and said “I’ll be sure to get a good one of 18 for him. Hope he’s alright.” (You can see 18 making a great diving catch just below this photo) I’m pretty sure his grandson is a sophomore or junior so I hope to see both of them on the sidelines again next season.
